Cornelia Funke

Cornelia Funke, the German award-winning author, was born in 1958. She is best known for her bestseller The Thief Lord. She also wrote the magnificent Inkheart trilogy. She mostly writes fantasy stories. As a child, she originally wanted to be an astronaut or a pilot, but after learning in the Hamburg university, she began to work with children, and soon began illustrating books. The next stage was to write her own books, progressing from short stories to novels.
