Lois Lowry

Lois Lowry was born on March 20, 1937 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her first job was a photographer, then a journalist, during the 1970's. Her creative journalist work drew to attention the Houghton Mifflin and with their encouragement, Lois wrote her first book,  A Summer To Die. Since then, Lois has written more than 30 children books, including the Willoughbys, Silent Boy, Autumn Street and more.

Now a regular grandma, she reads, knits and plays with her four grandchildren.
