Best known under his pseudonym Hergé, Georges Prosper Remi is the author of the famous Tintin series. Remi joined Boy Scout at age 12, and experimented with speech bubbles while patrol leader. In World War II, Georges became a lieutenant, and Tintin in the Land of Black Gold was most rudely interrupted.
Hergé based some of the adventures in his comics on the happenings over the world.
