The Faraway Tree

Three children, Jo, Bessie and Fanny find a magical tree, which top reaches a land, the lands changing every while, in a wood near their neat cottage. They meet peculiar friends there and experience adventures no one believes. This series tells us about their adventures in the lands and in the Faraway Tree.
It's a trilogy - The Enchanted Wood, The Folk of the Faraway Tree and The Magic Faraway Tree.

The Enchanted Wood

Jo, Bessie and Fanny move to the countryside, where it is peaceful and tranquil. The two sisters and brother set out to explore and find a magic wood. Fanny is certain that there are fairy folk there, but Bessie is scared of entering between the silent trees.
They are more eager than ever to explore the little wood when their father tells them that it is named the Enchanted Wood.
They explore it and find the Faraway Tree that everyone is afraid of climbing. They meet Moon Face, Saucepan Man and Silky the elf, with whom they have adventures, like helping against evil red goblins and visiting funny lands.
I like this story! Written well, good plot, and mild suspense.
